Ardenwood Historic Farm Fremont, CA - Lewis's Woodpecker #Lewis'sWoodpecker

According to Birds of Northern California this northern California resident is unique among its woodpecker relatives not only for its green-and-pink colorations, but because it does such of its foraging as a flycatchers do, catching insects on the wing. I observed it perched  alone in a simi-open walnut orchard atop  of dead tree. Today Sunday November 1st was my second day of spotting this bird.
