Black Crowned Night Heron-Juv. Wearing my #REI Explorer Hat I braved this urban rookery located at 12th and Alice Street in Downtown Oakland, Ca. This rookery is one of the most diverse I've visited in the San Francisco Bay Area. There are eight dense trees with Black Crowned Night Heron's, Snowy Egrets and Great Egrets dotting the tip top branches. The fledglings are very vocal as well as the adults with their loud groan's
