We had a late start today, however we were greatly rewarded. We first visited Grizzly Island, where we immediately sighted what seemed to be the entire west coast American Kestrel flock. We then seemed to run smack dab into every Red-tailed Hawk, dining on ground squirrels.
After our visit to Grizzly Island, we traveled to Robinson Road to locate Mountain Plovers and Burrowing Owls. We struck out on the Mountain Plovers. As we came to the end of the road, so to speak, we were pulled by an invisible string towards other birders who had located the Burrowing Owls. Our day trip was made even more special because we were joined by Susan Krauss and Linda Benson.
