Black Skimmer sited in Foster City Ca

Jill and I traveled to Foster City, Ca in order to search for the Black Skimmers. Black Skimmers are large, long-winged, short-tailed, short-legged turnlike birds. They have a remarkable and unforgettable bill that is long, deep with the lower part of the bill much longer and protruding.The bill has a bright thick red ring at the base. The sideview gives the appearance of the bill as thick however head on the bill is very thin. We are the luckiest amateur birders.
